Chiefin In A Tribe With Babes At His Side: J.G.

In the world it’s really hard to find people who are the same as their music. Most often nowadays everyone gives a persona but leaves you wondering if they’re all that in real life. One thing is for sure however, J.G. is not a part of this wide range of numbers. What artist do you know that Harlem shakes to lose stress? Better yet who comes at music “like I’m a artist with a canvas ready to create anything?” This Pontiac native now thriving in Houston is who he is in every track he drops. Apparently in interviews he stays the same as well. For those of us wanting artists to be real life all day every day he just might be a great start. Let’s dig deeper shall we. . .

Image

Let’s begin with this odd way of J.G. writing his name. “My stage name originated from my mom ex-boyfriend. He use to always call me “JG” because it’s my initials. So I ran with it, & to make it more catchy I added the “.” so it’s really “J.G”.” Mystery solved. Now when it comes to his chase for hiphop however, it’s less complicated. This story spitter has been writing since he was in fifth grade but his passion didn’t quite spark until college. Struggling with finding something he enjoyed J.G. decided to create a project of which he recorded and released. According to him “nobody liked it” and in that moment he realized he loved what he was doing. Though a little backwards, he ran from there with no turn backs.

Despite pursuing music being J.G.’s current vision, he does hunger to accomplish other areas in his life. When you ask what it is he may jokingly tell you he’s wanted to do pornos since he was eight however that’s not the real case (thank the Lawd!) What he DOES want to do is film; anything that deals with a camera and tape but doesn’t include weddings is what we’re talking about. Nonetheless music is his focal point. And J.G. has the results he plans to see already mapped out. “My biggest goals in life, might have to be… Winning Grammies, traveling across the world doing the most shows [an] artist has ever done, making sure my loved ones are on their feet, being a good human being, and physically connecting with Stacey Dash.” Sounds pretty solid, well maybe except Ms. Dash.

Besides being naturally entertaining J.G. also knows how to make a phrase into something bigger than just words. If you haven’t heard Chiefy Tribe has been born.

“€hiefy Tribe originated in 2011, from one of my songs called “who am I.” I said in the song “…I’m so CHIEFY hoe, that’s really all you need to know”. The word “CHIEFY” is similar to the word “bossy = boss”. I’m also from Pontiac, Michigan and Pontiac is [an] Indian Chief. I figured saying “CHIEFY” could connect my city to my music and my music connects to my fans. So i started thinking, what’s a way I can make my listeners feel apart of something and my city grow…. months down the line I created “€hiefy Tribe”. If you don’t understand, just visit the site “WWW.CHIEFYTRIBE.COM“.”

In shorter terms: €hiefy Tribe – a individual that act as a leader & work hard as a worker, to put on for one’s tribe. You got it? Good. Outside of that he’s infamous for using the retro word “babes” when describing females. This explanation is much simpler in how it came. Mama told him stop cursing so much in his joints, babes was his compromise, end of story. We need more of that these days, it stretches creativity. And J.G.’s mom must have known what she was doing because now it’s left a mark of something he just does. He does aim to create “everyday, honest music.” That appears to work well if I do say so myself.

So while Houston is adjusting to an artist like him and Michigan keeps embracing him J.G. doesn’t have anything new coming out quite this second. He’s still pushing his summer project  which has been deemed classic by all who’s been graced with it. (Hard copies are available.) Him and TDeeZy are in the works of a trilogy called “GODLYSUPREME” which won’t be out until next year. ” It’s going to be our best project to date,” says J.G. so of this we’ll see. And with him that seems possible. In addition he’ll be apart of the RTF College Tour. On the personal side ladies he is single but if he can’t deal with your farting then you stand NO chance so good luck. For the rest of the world check out J.G., you don’t want to sleep on someone who’s message is “do whatever the f**k, YOU CHOOSE TO DO!” This time, following the leader is okay, I promise.

“Diced Pineapples” : Prince Adam & Anthony King

Open Oven go getters Prince Adam and Anthony King dropped their remix of “Diced Pineapples.” To no disappointment both deliver solid bar after bar. From lyrical wit down to delivery you won’t miss the original joint at all (including Wale’s poem.) Covers aren’t always easy to accomplish but Prince and King proved musical royalty can take over even the most mainstream of tracks. You won’t be disappointed yo. Mama’s word.

Tasteless:Marco Dior

Up and comer Marco Dior has remixed The Weekend’s joint “High For This” and created a dope visual to back it up. In this reconstructed track, which is renamed “Tasteless”, there’s everything from graffiti to a chick sniffing coke (ask no questions.) Despite the name, however, you’ll no doubt find a taste for what it is that’s brought. Though his name may be new, his bars don’t sound like it. Check it out, put others up on it, and keep a lookout. There’s more to come REAL soon yo.

Mission Impossible UNLESS You’re A Raider.

There’s something dope chilling out here. It’s so cool and breezy you may catch a cold. Yep, it’s that ill. What in the world am I talking about right? Right. The Raiders created a lofty tape called Money Making Mission. On this commodity you’ll find production that makes you feel like a G and bars that backup that sensation. Aye Peez and Manny D rode out on this one down to the features. Dig into this right quick. . .

Image

LISTEN. DOWNLOAD. SHARE.

The dopest thing about this project is the FEEL of it. The way even the words were delivered makes you want to be a part of a gang when the East vs West coast beef was jumping off hot. If you never sipped a forty or puffed a little something you definitely can envision it with the way this tape is produced. Get high music? Eh, not so much but get lifted and feel like a boss? Mos def! If you can’t handle a new age vintage feel this ain’t for you homie (just saying.)

Apart from the vibe of this nice release the bars are solid. It’s not one of those things where you can hear some dope beats but the words are whack. No, my good friend that is not the case. Peez and Manny both make sure to deliver to your ears, but in their own style. There is no comparison on the way they spit which we ALL KNOW is a RARITY these hiphopian days. On top of that even their features can flow. The bonus track features Zelooperz of which many of you should know and love. Take it to the bank and cash out, these bars? Precious metal all day.

Don’t let the last bit of sunshine leave before giving this project a full hearing. You’ll regret, your friends are going to laugh, and Mama won’t save you ‘cuz I warned you. So follow the arrow above, get hype, and get ready to play The Raiders. They might even teach you to play like one (ok. false advisement, whatever.)  But nonetheless it’s guaranteed you’ll finish it off feeling like you just hopped off the stoop getting to roll into a coop. Trust me will you.

Jet Lag:Devin Miles

RLes Society’s very own Devin Miles has dropped a hot joint for your eyes, Jet Lag. In this smooth vid he’s having a dope day in Cali which perfectly matches the production of this song. While watching him chill out in the illest of gear and sip Henny on the beach he ensures to fill your ears with incredible bars. Once again he delivers something n**gas can feel and I promise you won’t mind imagining yourself in the scenes. If you’re a hater no doubt you’re left sick from the Jet Lag, but for the rest of us? We enjoyed the feeling. Salute.

“No Love” which was produced by Henny G has been dropped by Manny Diesel of The Raiders. Though only a snippet (no for real, it’s barely two minutes) Manny gives us an idea of what’s to come. With an interesting production and a chill but forward delivery of bars it’s clear no games are going to be played. What’s he cooking up? I don’t know but me and my ears are ready to see what’s next to come out. Cross those fingers kids!

Round Two Terrorist Style

What does the number two, 9/11, and Detroit have in common? Easy, Reflections II. This ill project has been recently dropped by Eastsider Richy Marciano from the popular Cool Zone and Creative Mind Coalition super label. It had a nice buzz around it, so much so to where I was getting anxious for the drop my own self! The real question on everyone’s mind, especially mine, was how would Reflections II compare to Reflections? Not every spitter can create a II and make that boy shine just as bright as the first one. But with much relief Richy delivered a project that stood higher than his original production. So let’s get into the knitty gritty. . .

 Image

RICHY’S MUSIC

Richy Marciano is by far talented with his bar skills. Whether he’s story telling or just flat out letting niggas know he puts his words in precise uniform. Unmatched in his personal delivery, vocally he makes it pleasant to feel his music. Nowadays many rappers lack a skill to do that yet somehow he can pull it off over his tracks with ease it seems. It can be said with confidence that he is indeed in his own lane when it rolls down to how he does his music. Nobody sounds like Richy and Richy doesn’t sound like anybody. Major win.

Production on this tape tho? BEAST! I approve the selections and major shout outs to all involved with those beats. Just like Mr. Marciano, the beats were in a sense nontraditional. There were some tracks that led you to the inside of a funky Cadillac and others put you in the now. The twists and turns were dope, but most of all balanced. ‘Cuz we ALL know how annoying projects can be when the tracks don’t make sense next to each other. Super applause on that.

Overall, Reflections II lived up to the hype and then some. Richy Marciano not only delivered a polished mixtape but he no doubt showed he’s nothing to play with. With versatility he tackled this project and conquered all ends. From equal features to real life scenarios it’s guaranteed you’ll feel ill. Richy stood in his own lane and made that joint stretch to make more room for his greatness to come. And the road doesn’t stop here.
